A bit quiet, peaceful

After a long week sometime all I want is some quiet. I certainly got it here. This cemetery is actually a very large one near our old house downtown Grand Rapids. We chose the Catholic side (it is actually on both sides of the road) because it seemed a bit spookier and older.

It seems that no matter how excited I get about season changes, even after looking at tons of pictures for inspiration, I can't seem to figure out how to dress. This is an example of a transition outfit I wore a few months ago this spring. I know, I am so far behind in posting! I like how it came together. The weather still required tights in my opinion but not layered (like I do all winter). These seemed perfect; still warm, but not too warm. And living in Michigan makes scarfs essential basically 9 months out of the year ;)

I have finally gotten all the photos on my camera uploaded to my computer from this summer (baby steps people), so soon things should be back in full swing here. I hope..

A Chilly Day Last Spring

It looks as if fall is slowly creeping up on me. I never realize it's coming because fall always means the rush of school starting and deadlines. This year I have told myself that I won't let it pass me by. I still have a lot going on with school and internships but I am trying to take in every moment, this includes being better about updating here. I started this blog to have a way to look back at all the moments in life, and somehow I never seem to be up to date here.

Anyway these photos were taken a few months ago when we stilled lived downtown. I couldn't resist walking out on the ledge, although I must admit I was a bit nervous.

Reed City Bridge

My absence here seems to be the new norm. I suppose I could blame it on life simply not shaping out the way I thought it would.

My obsession for bridges continued throughout the spring when these pictures were taken. I simply cant get enough.

I must say I was happy to have summer here, but I really do miss tights and layering. Perhaps I am more fond of colder weather than I ever knew...

Lost in the Woods

I have been feeling a bit lost lately. My first rotation is finally done, and now I am in the mist of moving. Summer is much harder to enjoy when you have so little time to do so. I am in need of a vacation, even if it consists only of walking through the woods with no destination in mind.

Townsend Park

This set of photos was taken at least a few months ago. Rob had some last minute things to do at work and asked if I wanted to come. I decided to go to keep him company and also to get him to do photos. We went to a park on the way to his work. Because it was still quite cold there was no one around. I just love when that happens! No awkward stares.

I have been trying to keep up with the blog more lately, because really the reason I started it was so that I could look back on my life. If my life isn't getting documented then the blog is not really serving its purpose. I suppose it is about finding balance in my life. I feel that is something I am lacking at the moment. With the stress of my internship and packing and working every weekend I just simply haven't found the time to put as much into this as I would like.

I actually made this purse with the help of my dad! I love the look but didn't have much luck at estate sales so we decided to create one ourselves. We learned a lot along the way, and I think we can certainly improve on our next adventure, but I am happy with the way it turned out!

I suppose I should comment on my outfit. I got this skirt when there was still snow on the ground. I really like it, but have been having some trouble with the styling. I have worn it a few different ways now and I'm still not sure which way I liked best. I will have to post some pictures of myself in it with less layers on now that it is so warm here!

5th of July

These pictures were taken last 4th of July at my parents house. Rob and my dad always put on the best shows! I took plenty of pictures this year, but I haven't had the chance to upload them yet. Typical me, I am always so far behind.
