Fennville, Part II

So here's the next batch of photos from Fennville. On our first full day there we (along with Rob's brother Bruce) decided to check out the New Richmond Bridge on the Kalamazoo River.

We pretty much used it as an excuse to explore & take a bunch of photos.

This dress, unlike the last dress did get a lot of play this summer. It was perfectly light-weight and comfortable for those hot summer days. A lovely Easter present from my parents.

Fennville, Better Late Then Never

So, these pictures were taken this past summer. I know, I know, it's already November. Gosh, time has been slipping away from me. I am half-way through my internships and I feel like I only blinked. Anyway, this is the first batch of photos from our trip with Rob's family.

The lovely house behind me is the one we stayed in for the three days we were there. There was a swimming pool and hot tub! And the kitchen was huge and amazing. The owners are from Chicago and rent it out all year round. They converted over half the house to bedrooms. We stayed in the basement, which had a bedroom and a giant game-room with a bar & a pool table.

There are more photos from the trip, so hopefully those will be up SOON.

This dress did not get enough play last summer. I got it towards the end of summer and simply ran out of nice days to wear it. Oh well, there is always next year ;)

Sometimes All You Need is a Little Family Lovin

With my internships taking up the majority of my time it is nice to slow down and enjoy family. Its hard to beat spending time with the people you love and listening to some great music too.

My beautiful sister!

Best. cousin. ever.

It is also extremely nice to see my brother, with him at school in the UP I feel like I only see him a couple times a year. In fact I don't think I will see him again until Christmas. I suppose that gives me something wonderful to look forward to!

The Secret Lake

You know how you have those spots that remain unnamed even though you frequent them throughout the years. This place is simply referred to as 'the secret lake'. Now, I am not entirely sure how secret it is, it sits on state land and there is a dirt road leading to it with a clearing at the end, but for all the times we have been there, we have never seen anyone else. I suppose that it only gives the illusion of being secret, but I rather like it that way.

I found this vintage purse at an antique mall. It was too reasonable and beautiful to pass up.

These pictures were taken the last time we headed out to the secret lake. We had just left an awards banquet and had the afternoon to relax. This is where we chose to do so.

I have to say I really love this dress. I think I wore it more than any other dress I own last year. It was a good length and I love that it is sheer on the top. I also love the effect of the flowers fading.

A bit quiet, peaceful

After a long week sometime all I want is some quiet. I certainly got it here. This cemetery is actually a very large one near our old house downtown Grand Rapids. We chose the Catholic side (it is actually on both sides of the road) because it seemed a bit spookier and older.

It seems that no matter how excited I get about season changes, even after looking at tons of pictures for inspiration, I can't seem to figure out how to dress. This is an example of a transition outfit I wore a few months ago this spring. I know, I am so far behind in posting! I like how it came together. The weather still required tights in my opinion but not layered (like I do all winter). These seemed perfect; still warm, but not too warm. And living in Michigan makes scarfs essential basically 9 months out of the year ;)

I have finally gotten all the photos on my camera uploaded to my computer from this summer (baby steps people), so soon things should be back in full swing here. I hope..

A Chilly Day Last Spring

It looks as if fall is slowly creeping up on me. I never realize it's coming because fall always means the rush of school starting and deadlines. This year I have told myself that I won't let it pass me by. I still have a lot going on with school and internships but I am trying to take in every moment, this includes being better about updating here. I started this blog to have a way to look back at all the moments in life, and somehow I never seem to be up to date here.

Anyway these photos were taken a few months ago when we stilled lived downtown. I couldn't resist walking out on the ledge, although I must admit I was a bit nervous.
