Grand RIver

Looking back at photos like these makes me miss living downtown. When we could jump in the car and quickly drive over to the river to feel the breeze coming from the water and watch people wandering around doing the same.

This clutch is probably my favorite vintage find ever. Honestly it's the sort of thing I'm always searching for, the type of thing that keeps me going back for more.

Sometimes I wish my life required me to wear heels more often, but especially now that we live away from the city I find myself in flats all too often. I also wish I found myself wearing my hair up more often. This was a favorite style for last summer. So simple, yet elegant in a way.

Library

I had great plans for photos at the library last month. Unfortunately there were a large number of people staring/talking to us/asking for money... This is the only picture that came out of it all. I think this is an example of why I like taking pictures in the country or at more remote locations (aside from the picturesque way they turn out and the adventure we have getting there). I have a hard enough time not doing stupid faces and the like when it is only Rob & I or my sister & I, I don't need the help of a large audience...

High Water

It's been a very wet spring here in Michigan. It swear it seems like it rains everyday, so much so that the river has been at an extremely high level. The river-walk has been closed for a large portion of the season and there were a few days where it looked like the river may actually overflow. This was a close as we could get.

I have been trying to get caught up with posts, but I have so many left to post! I feel like I'm giving the impression that it is still very cold here in MI, but it has warmed up quite a bit. I suppose it is alright I'm behind a bit because I am about to start my rotation for school on June 1st. I am nervous, but also excited. I will be working Monday through Friday, but I will be working my job on Saturday too. That leaves Sunday for pictures, perhaps evenings. I suppose we shall see how it all plays out. Hopefully I can stay up-to-date somewhat (although this blog never quite feels up-to-date).

There is not much interesting to say about my outfit. I feel like this was my winter go-to look. Dress + Sweater + Tights + Boots, although I wore my black boots much more often than these. I really didn't take many pictures over the winter, mostly because I was so busy with school, but also because I feel like when it gets cold I somewhat get stuck in a rut with clothes.

Tunnel

These pictures were taken a while back in a creepy tunnel near our house downtown. It was still pretty cold in MI when we took theses, hence me being covered up so much. And gosh, here is that same scarf again. I swear there were days I didn't wear it...

Here is a rare picture of my photographer. He is a bit camera-shy, even more so than me.
